Our southern visitors, the Humpback Whales are back and have been sighted off the Sunshine Coast at Coolum Beach heading north to the Hervey Bay region and beyond for their annual migration. Whales have been spotted breaching and putting on quiet a show; they love an audience. Each year between July and November whales can be seen travelling north and south along the coast.

The experience of seeing whales up close is one you will never forget. They are very inquisitive, come close to the boats and really check you out; the louder the oohs and aahs the whales keep coming back. What we found amazing was how the whales are able to lift their heads out of the water have a look around the then go bWhale ack into the water without a splash. Seeing the whales breaching is incredible – how do they manage to lift that body out of the water.
